("Enagic" is the name of the company that creates the machine puts out what the company calls "Kangen" water)

 

Enagic's "LeveLuk SD501, producing the hardest hitting ionized water in  the the world (what it's manufacturer, "Enagic", calls "Kangen" water, meaning,  "return to origin")

 

 

• Purified water: Water Only passes through the filter without electrolysis.
  Use it when taking medicines and vitamins.
  
• Kangen water: This is water generated at the negative electrode. It has been recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for "the relief of chronic diarrhea, indigestion, hyperacidity, antacids and abnormal gastric fermentation".  Comes out at 8.5, 9.0 or 9.5.
  
• Weak acidic water: This water, in the pH range 4.0-6.0, and is  recognized as an astringent for cosmetic purposes. Use this for facial washing, bathing and showers. There is no need to rinse it off.
  
• Strong Kangen water (11.5): This is strong alkaline water with pH of 11.0 or higher.  This Kangen water has solvent and swelling properties, reducing the necessary volumes of soap, laundry detergent and dish detergent.  Also, perfect for washing fruits and vegetables in.  Takes all the toxins and pesticides out.   You'll love the effect of this.  Fruits and vegetables taste so much better after being washed or soaked in 11.5 water.  Washing fruits and vegetables with tap water actually puts chlorine and other impurities in to the fruits and vegetables.
  
• Strong acidic water: Strong acidic water, with pH of 2.7 or below, is “sanitary water”, with strong disinfectant ability due to hypochlorous acid.  

  Enagic's electrolyzed water generators are the only such product to have been awarded a certification mark for quality and safety from the Japanese Association of Preventive Medicine for Adult Disease. This recommendation system is famous for its extraordinarily rigorous inspections, and the mark is awarded to one product from one company in each industry that passes the third inspection.

1)Power  The SD 501 creates 230 watts of electricity which is essential in creating a complete electrolysis and ionization. Other water ionizers run at about 80 watts. This creates a risk of acid and alkaline water mixing together instead of a true separation.   

Other ionizers, claiming to use more sophisticated variable power do so because putting the pedal to the metal (electrically) will fry mesh plates.   Enagic's superior solid takes can have the juice all the way up and consequently can deliver the goods! (More on this below)

2) Big, Solid Plates  Enagic's SD 501 system has 7 large Titanium plates with specially coated Platinum plates. With a proven technology that runs continuously without overheating or stalling.  The total exposure of the water with the 7 plates is approx 450 % greater than other brands. Many other brands use "mesh" plates. Mesh technology is less durable. Moreover, as they expand and contract with heat and cold exposure, the mesh engineering tends to break down, causing the Titanium to be exposed.  

It is important to note that mesh plates are much less expensive to manufacture and bear the liability of break down- even the risk of disseminating metal into your water (which is very dangerous, but hard to discern).

Ironically, to defend the use of these plates the companies that use them declare that they are " advanced" (I suppose because they were developed after the much more powerful solid plates that Enagic uses).  And it's not that the philosophy of the meshed plates doesn't make sense (i.e. more surface area), it's just that in the real world, it hasn't panned out as planned. They simply don't work as well and present a health concern as well!
